A lone turtle rests on an empty beach. These are the moments of photography that I enjoy the most. No cars to be heard. No cell phones ringing. No people. Just the turtle, the sunset, and the soothing sounds of small waves crawling up the sand.

Solitude was awarded the Grand Prize and the Artists' Choice award at the annual Kahilu Theatre black and white photo contest for 2007.
